KITT 2026

Knight Rider goes electric. Some things never change.

Forty years later, KITT was overdue for an upgrade.

Starting with two LEGO City EV Supercar kits, a 2017 Michael Knight minifigure, a 1/24-scale scanner kit, and a handful of spare parts, I set out to bring Knight Industries into the electric age.

The original LEGO supercar already had surprisingly good bones. A little kitbashing, a lot of fiddling, and a working red scanner later, KITT 2026 was born.

Naturally, the new KITT is fully electric. There’s even a charging port hidden beneath a panel behind the driver’s seat.

Some things change. The powertrain, for example.

Some things never change. Michael’s hair, his leather jacket, and that iconic blue license plate.

And because a silent KITT just wouldn’t be right, I repurposed an old MP3 player into a miniature voice module loaded with classic KITT phrases. A little personality goes a long way.

One man. One car. Two LEGO kits.

And absolutely no need for gasoline.
