Brick-Spin Record Player | LEGO Retro Turntable

🎶 Say hello to the Brick-Spin Record Player, a bite-sized turntable that marries 1970s vibe with 2025 tech. I paired a Raspberry Pi 4B 8 GB with a Waveshare 5″ round touchscreen (our faux “vinyl”) and surgically split a MangoKit SR10 Internet radio so the mono speaker & manual controls sit symmetrically on both sides. The enclosure? Pure LEGO, right down to a faux-wood stripe and a transparent lid. It boots straight into an Internet-radio playlist but happily jumps to Spotify or local FLACs.

Skipping tracks randomly selects a new “Record” to display while the controls show the album thumbnail.

Want to go a different direction and print a fully retro record player? Visit Concept Bytes https://www.patreon.com/posts/spotify-record-127390794, which was my original inspiration for this project. Supporting them as a patron was a huge boost since it gave me a Python-code foundation to begin modifying for this project.
